When it comes to health care, women are 100% more likely to visit the doctor for an annual exam and preventative services than men.  Women live healthier and longer lives than their male counterparts. And at age 100, women outnumber men 8 to 1.

Louisiana Men’s Health Organization is trying to change men’s attitudes about their health and wellbeing at the 8th Annual Men’s Health Conference, Saturday, August 22 at Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge. It’s the perfect event where men of all ages can get the information needed to live longer, happier, healthier lives.

“The purpose of the Men’s Health Conference is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment, as well as to educate on health risks specific to men of different ages and races,” says Dr. Curt Chastain, Director of LMHO and the Lake Men’s Health Center. “This conference will also give health care providers, public policy makers, the media, and individuals an opportunity to encourage men to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury.”
